Y'all are mighty quiet today. Perhaps I should give you something to speculate upon...

Where was this photo taken way back in 19 and 82?

Default Remember This?

While everyone's trying to figure out where Mad's photo was taken, I thought I'd throw this in to help stimulant rusty brain cells.

I am drawing a blank on MAD's photo although I will bet I probably went by there a lot also.

I do not recognize the Indian either as it probably has something to do with the Fort Osage high school.

I just noticed that the football stadium at Noland and 24 has "Chrisman" and "Truman" painted on the turf sidelines. I take it Van Horn does not play there?

I saw a field for Van Horn but it appears to have little or no seating.

Also saw what appears to be a very nice stadium and practice field for Fort Osage.

Truman has always played their varsity football at the "All School Stadium" at Chrisman. I don't recall reading anything about where Van Horn plays. After Indep Schools took it over they did a lot of work on the VH fields.

VH was in the old Interscholastic League, which had its own fieldhouse (over by Swope Park SE High School) and may have had its own football field in the same vicinity

Edit: Just checked over at maxpreps.com and it lists current year home games at "Van Horn High School" so maybe they have their own home field.

The guy that built the Indian, lived on the northeast corner of Sterling and 15th, between Truman and Winner. It disappeared for a time, Then turned up as the property of Jim Graham who lives in Lakewood.

Wasn't trying to step on toes, Mad. No reason for you to be quiet.

I think MAD's just wanting to give the rest of us a chance to "name that Indian" We must have gone past 15th & Sterling I don't now how many times. What years might the Indian have been visible from that vantage point?
