Usually, so it seems, that when it snows here near the coast we always have a good melt the next day and at least pavement and decks dry up... I've been chopping at ice all day and now refreezing where it didn't melt or the trees dripped down.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, usually we get to 40s after it snows but today didn't pass mid 30s. Just feels strange for mid December.

I still have ice on my trees and of course a snowpack which has a layer of ice on top. Hard for dogs to walk on!

Here's the GFSMOS Forecast for some CT Stations. I don't see any good melting until at least Thurs-Fri.

Watching the potential for a storm on Dec 23-24 AND Dec 27 timeframe. Wow, what a pattern we entered.

I think the 23rd is all rain although latest trends point to a rain to snow event. 27th looks interesting.

17th is all snow. No mixing issues. Clipper type snow. I think 4" is the very max we see from it somewhere.

Tuesdays storm. Have to see where and how strong the coastal low develops. Further south then likely see the higher end of the 2-4" range maybe a 5-6" somewhere.

Upton.

MODELS HAVE BEEN TRENDING STRONGER AND WETTER WITH THIS SYSTEM...BUT STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY ON WHETHER SECONDARY DEVELOPMENT OF A COASTAL LOW TAKES PLACE OVER THE REGION OR JUST SOUTH TUESDAY MORNING

Hmmm....I'd wonder what would happen if my Tuesday final got cancelled.....................again. Really don't feel like driving up to Waterbury in 4 inches of snow that day.

Your eyes are not deceiving you!

A look at the GFS6z Surface map that shows the track of the 23rd storm and rain for us... and the max temps for morning of the 23rd. These temps are soley because of the path of the storm. Its driving a south flow into us at all levels. Right behind it is another arctic High. So we might see a classic cold snow showery Christmas day.

I'll admit, 50s will feel good. Last time I seen even 40s for a high temp was the 6th of this month. 10 days ago!

Snow flurries outside right now.

Current temps and Wind chills. 20s outside and Feels like teens across CT. Litchfield temps in the teens. We're not alone in this cold either.

You don't have a location on your info bar , I forget where you are. What I do myself sometimes is use TWC hourly only when we're within 24hrs of an event. Just to give me an idea about the timing.

Here's Trumbull. Looks like around 6am. So figure 5-7am across the state.

Here's Stratford.
Light fluffy snow again but no big deal. Slick roads will be around though

Ok that's it. 60s in LATE December? Unacceptable. I need to seriously move. That's a disgrace
