Clippers without blocking = fast moving. Also carries cold air this time and that could mean dryness.. I'm personally saying the low end of the 2-4" and that 4" is the max total we'll see somewhere. No big deal tomorrow just be careful.

Ice just doesn't want to melt even in the sunlight.

Current wind chills midday, mid December in the teens and 20s.

Don't think it will really hit the 60's....but low/mid 50's are likely. In fact, according to NWS - after a bitter cold night tonight, it will slowly warm to upper 40's to low 50's in the coming days this week.

The wind direction is the name of the game in East Coast climates....

Assuming tomorrow's storm brings a few inches... How many days with above freezing temps will it take to melt what we have? I wanted to do some insulation work in my attic, but don't want to go up there while there's snow on the roof (don't want to bring heat into the attic from inside the house and melt what's up there, contributing to ice dams).

Will this be a non major type event or a commuting mess type storm? I hit the Merritt SB anywhere from 6:00 - 6:15 - 6:30 AM and NB around 5:30 PM. I just got my parking area nice and clean yesterday too.............

That's tough... I think that's more a scientific calculation than a weather answer. I would think if your roof is black a couple days around 40 degrees with full sun. Or 4 days in the mid 40s without sun?

Advisories are out for tomorrow. Pretty sure Northern CT wont get them because it doesn't meet their criteria.

No way a major event. Simple 1-3" New England snowfall. But I learned when temps are cold even just 1 inch of snow makes the roads slippery but your morning commute timing is ok. Wont start till about 8am

A look at the models and timing. Here's what the latest says for where and what the precip is at 8am.

Notice the GFS has the snow more into CT by 8am. Maybe that's because its not a Hi-Res model?
The Hi-Res NAM has the front edge the furthest south at 8am.

and yes, 4th time NJ is going to get snow in 10 days. That shows how much south the northern Jet is. The way I see it is, when NJ gets snow, we're not near the border for snow/rain line so it kinda tells you the pattern we're in and how deep the fronts are dropping

Doubt it but I have no control over what schools do. But I doubt it. Sorry.

Snow just entered Ohio but very light and scattered..Its the Low that forms off the NJ coast in the morning that will give us that extra inch or two. Very cold night for us while we wait.
