Feels like 11° outside with the 20mph wind gusts here. Temps rose overnight because of the winds I believe.

I started a thread for the storm, anything pertaining to it to be posted in there. This way we don't clutter this thread with all the posts.

Cam - I notice a snow event on Tuesday as well. Do you know how much snow this will produce? I have to travel by car quite far that day.

WITH AT LEAST 6-8 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION LIKELY. HIGHER SNOW RATIOS ARE POSSIBLE BEFORE ANY WINTRY MIX...SO HIGHER TOTALS CLOSER TO 10-12 INCHES ARE NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION FARTHER INLAND.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

What the hell changed?

I have to work Saturday. T_T

Another one?? I havent looked into it. Seems like I've been saying "one storm at a time" recently. I think your fine. No big storm. Last I checked was just a weak wave of precip dropping maybe 1-3" Tuesday.

Just to answer this, simple. System entered the U.S yesterday and more data was fed into the models which showed more moisture involved and same cold air. Those are the details we don't see many days out. We'll see. Will keep other thread updated.

I see most of the media outlets are being quite conservative on what the storm this weekend will bring, there still seems to be little information about it. There seems to be few estimates of where it might snow/rain/mix/snowfall amounts…etc.

Right now the storm is trying to organize in the southern plains before it moves toward the eastern half of the USA. These are the only maps of snowfall/mix estimates I can find as of this morning: They both seem to show anywhere from 1 to 3 inches in the coastal corner of southeast Connecticut/Long island….to 6 to 10 inches in the NW Hills of CT and the Hudson Valley – lol. So I guess we will have to wait another 24 hours before anything is set in stone:

Cairo, Egypt had their first sticking snowfall in 112 years! (The pictures of snow on the Sphinx are wild.....)

Same storm produced a foot of snow in Jerusalem, Israel (contrary to popular belief, snow not as rare there due to elevation, usually gets at least one small snowfall/year and a snow of this size once every decade or so.....it's Tel Aviv on the coast that never gets snow a la Cairo and this time they once again only got rain).

I guess it's just cold and snowy everywhere early....

I saw that on the news...the pictures were insane. It was one of those "video game" or "end of the world movie" screen shots.

We have very cold temps from now till next weekend with teens and 20s. Little More snow Tuesday then GFS says this next week but for 1 day only. Should be a nice break. Don't worry, not a pattern changer. Enjoy being past the hump. lol
