It'll depend on how frozen and packed together the snow layers on the ground are...think of how ice banks stick around in Spring.

Can't believe it took two hours to get from Hartford to Bristol...forget cooking I called for a pizza when I got to the first stoplight!!!

I got around 5 inches here in Danbury.. There's also about a foot of snow on my shaded deck that hasn't been shoveled at all this season

Looking ahead...

Saturday in the 40s, Sunday's max temps shown below per GFS, then Monday temps drop during the day with rain with the front. So this is a 1 day warm up but it sure will be a nice break from this pattern. Gees.

BDR Monthly Mean 34.8° -2.8 below normal
BDL Monthly Mean 29.8° -4.3° below normal

BDR with 10.3" of snow on the season and only mid December. Gees.

Those high temperatures forecasted for southern VT and NH are near records. The low temperature this morning in Concord, NH was not close to the record for today. A blowtorch courtesy of the flow around a southeast ridge.

Another cold morning out there. Remember, salt is only effective above a certain temp so there's ice and a snowpack everywhere this morning.

Monthly temp graphs for 4 locations.

After the 6th we entered a January pattern with 20s/30s max, 10s/20s Lows & snow

It's going to be 2 weeks since having above normal mean temp. Couple days is just a blip in the pattern.

Also note BDL went sub zero with their low the other day
