NYC metro is expensive even Newark getting little pricey but homicides going down I would say by 2030 it get better

A 20 y/o was shot to death outside some apartments in the Olde Town area of Portsmouth last night. That's now 37 and ties the all-time record set in 1995. May not be the final count due to justified/reclassifications.

192 is including Bham. Bham metro's pretty safe outside of the parts of the city proper and the western suburbs. This year had a good number of deaths in a prison located in unincorporated Jefferson county, though.

City went like a week without a homicide only to rack up 4 in one day.

Exactly. Can't even get too happy about the break in homicides because you know it's usually short lived. September was a pleasant surprise with only having 13 total for the month.

Tough few days for Portsmouth. A 37 y/o man was found shot to death in the Prentis Park area yesterday evening. Apparently he was shot in front of a quick mart a block away, badly wounded made his way to a nearby home, where he was reported to police as "suspicious". That's 38 for the year and breaks the all-time record set in 1995.
