I also feel like a water ice is as good (if not better) as any other 100 top Ritas. Do you work for Ritas to make these claims? You have sampled 100+ Ritas locations? Dont think so. Or you could be someone who likes their ice with a "Silver Spoon"?

No response needed.

Actually, yes, a response is needed.

You see, I do have a connection to Rita's other than the fact that just recently I've decided NOT to open two stores in Charlotte because, well, they want you to open two and not one store. I don't have the time to open two right now. Had I had the time and some more money, I would probably have gone and went with it because I feel they will be very successful here in this area.
As far as them being nice people, I never said they weren't. Apparently you know them better than I and probably have a biased opinion of them.

No, Not biased. But you know what, you definitely DO NOT know what you are talking about. Kinda find it funny. Read some of your other posts and it seems you dont let things go. People notice this. Anyways, good luck in life sir.

But the water here does not make any difference.

Oh, boy, here we go.....it's a total NY thing, guys. I have a friend from Long Island. It's a BIG deal to them...gotta have the FRESH deli meat, the FRESH cheese (think Zabar's and others) and the FRESH bread. It really does make a difference, as I am a little spoiled with Boar's Head stuff. Once I went grocery shopping with my Long Island friend and bought some Oscar Meyer bologna in front of her, and she just about had a fit. I got the lecture!

First off, the place is open and called Delancey Street Deli. It is NY style deli, not a diner. The sandwiches are Carnegie Deli style, way too big and expensive. Great if you split with more than one person. Hot dogs were $3.50 each so for the kiddies it got expensive. Can buy a pack of Hebrew National at the grocery store for less or go to Five Guys for the same dog and less money. The owners were from NY way back when and moved to Fla, then to NC. So I guess you could call them NY'ers and a NY style deli. For all those looking for a diner, this is not the place.

Is this the place everyone was talking about? I've been there and it was horrible all the way around!!! The service was substandard, they told my wife they were out of shrimp salad, lettuce and tomato one day a week ago so she got the tuna salad wrap which was so small it was pitiful, not to mention that it was plain since they didn't have lettuce and tomato, not to mention it was like $8.50 or something.

IMHO, Delancy Street Deli will be closed before the end of 2008. They are very overpriced and definitely not worth the trip. They will do ok right now until people figure out that there's better food out there.

So they are 'halfbacks', as in half way back to NY
Just a joke, relax.

Jake I have to agree.. As im from Brooklyn, NY well anyway .a friend and I went there for lunch this past week, the Coleslaw was delicious HOWEVER the Corn Beef YUK, it was all fat, and need I say I had it on Rye bread, I said to my friend "Since when is Rye Bread so Fat...as it is usually thin.. and then I didnt want the potato pancake, and asked if I could have french fries instead, and well I was told they wont let me do that so I could pay for it..so I wound up paying 3.25 for French Fries...the service was really just OK...I met the Owner and well honestly she wasnt very friendly or personable...I think we will stick to Katz Deli in the Arboretum...great food, good service and definately better meat...

Yeah, the owner wasn't very accomodating when we went also. Looking over the menu and their prices it's hard to think that people, even around here, will stand for it for too long. My prediction on ir's closing soon stands. Katz and Gleibermanns here we come.

I WOULD, however, like to see a real NY Diner here in Ballantyne. One with an awesome menu and preferably run by Greeks like they should be run. With the jukeboxes in the booths and everything. Johns Family Restaurant on Westinghouse is similar, but not quite there.
