Suspended for 1 race. No.fines or point deductions.
I dont understand why Nascar's playoff system allows eliminated people from participating. No other sport allows this. Wallace was eliminated a long time ago yet was able to knock.out a contender.

Because there would only be 8 cars in the race, not really entertaining.
Note that there is only one line in that article about Wallace. The rest are the multiple race suspensions for crews etc for loose wheels etc.
Exactly... so as far as NASCAR is concerned it was far more egregious for Kyle Busch to lose a wheel than Bubba Wallace to intentionally wreck someone at 175 mph.
Ben Beshore, crew chief of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, will miss the next four races along with jackman Derrell Edwards and tire changer Michael Hicks after the left-front wheel detached from Busch’s car under caution at Las Vegas. The suspensions carry through the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum.
Message is it`s ok to risk personal and equipment damage on the track but not to shave a few thousandths off a part in the shop.
Message is, "we knew we had to do something, but we had to be very delicate because of who it was".
This is going to come back to bite them in the long run and it's only going to create more animosity towards Wallace from fans and the other drivers.
Just look at the recent penalties and fines that have been handed out for much, much less.
William Byron; $100,000 for spinning Hamlin UNDER CAUTION! After an initial fine of $50,000 and a 25-point penalty.

William Byron admitted to intentionally spinning out Hamlin.
Again.. Go back to Carl Edwards wrecking Keselowski. What happened there?
I suspect, the way this was worded.. Since he was suspended under the "Behavior" section of the rulebook.. The suspension is probably more for the contact with an official than anything.
As with the Cole Custer thing a few weeks back.. You don't want to get penalized.. Keep yourself off the radio. Because once they have evidence, or you admitting to doing something intentionally.. Game over.

Yeah, watch Burton and Letarte on motor mouths regarding this, they sum the whole thing up pretty well, Burto talks about what farce that penalty on Edward's was. Also Letart calls bullsh*t on the steering argument, he still had brakes but he stood on the gas.

The people who run NASCAR went with the standard penalty. Nothing to see here. Move along.
From Bob Pockrass. A guy who knows more about how NASCAR works than anyone on this thread.
