Late to respond and I only read a few replies, but yesterday Bubba made 5 mistakes. One, when he saw what was happening and saw Kyle starting to slide towards him, he should have lifted. Two, and this is a big one especially considering how dangerous these new cars are, not to mentioned the very recent safety meetings they've had, he clearly retaliated. Three, Nascar made a rule a while back that you need to stay with your car and not walk away on the track. Four, the shoving and Five not listening to the official's orders and giving him a light push.
Also need to say that Christopher Bell could have very well saved Bubba's butt. Larson was heading towards the wall backwards, the worse position with these cars for injuries, and Kyle clipped him preventing that kind of crash.
Lastly, those were Bubba's mistakes, lets see if Nascar will make any.
Bubba said in the interview "I DON'T LIFT".
Bubba was put into a racing situation by Larson. He pinched Bubba up into the wall, did not make any car contact.
Bubba was 100 percent wrong. And as usual, Bubba once again said he wasn’t wrong, blaming someone else – in this case, Larson – than himself.
It'll show up here and there again for the next few years.. Like Dale Jarrett kicking the car at Bristol.. Or Robby Gordon throwing his helmet.. Or Tony throwing his.. Or Ward Burton trying to punch Dale Jr in his car.
NASCAR probably loved the shoving. Drama = Ratings.
I'd say they're likely pretty happy overall with how it went down. But want to temper the intentional wrecking part. Hence the likely probation.
The world will be waiting to see if NASCAR fairly punishes him, or concedes to the pressure of Bubba being a black man.
NASCAR is in a no win situation and Bubba put them there.
....The only real one that I can remember is Kurt Busch and Jimmy Spencer.. Spencer punched him while he was strapped in the car, but that's just because Kurt wouldn't get out of the car so he could do it. If you ever get the chance to watch that video.. Do it. I think it's on youtube somewhere.
I'm familiar with Jimmy Spencer, from his short track days. You didn't screw with him, because he, and his entire crew (mostly family members), back then, were a bunch of "junk yard dogs", and would brawl with anyone....
Fines and suspensions are usually issued on Tuesdays, or use to be, so we will see. I doubt there will be any, and getting all worked up about it is pointless.

There’s no question Bubba deserves to be taught a MAJOR LESSON (the capitalization and boldface are obviously for much-needed emphasis). NASCAR should start with a 100-point penalty, and a $200,000 fine for intentionally wrecking Larson at speed and jeopardizing not only Larson – particularly in a season where we’ve seen two drivers out with concussions (Kurt Busch and Alex Bowman) – but other drivers as well.

The comments and tweets in the article are gold, albeit mostly tongue in cheek ... but they do point out the outright hypocrisy and absurdity of NASCARS BLM driver.
Also raises the question wasn't Larson the first Asian driver? Certainly, the first Asian NASCAR champion!? Yet I don't really recall much being made of that fact.

I guarantee there is punishment. There must be.
I think sit a race, $100K, and 100 points. Maybe anger management. The response from Bubba was much greater than the situation warranted.
Gene Haas and Tony Stewart at odds on who's going to be in the 41 next year. Haas prefers to keep Custer, Stewart ready to replace him with Preece. The indication being both Harvick and Almirola will be finished after 2023.
