They made the official announcement. NASCAR's best kept secret.
The driver announcement was out for a while.. Because they had even said they were mothballing the #18 at that time.
The sponsor is what this announcement was about.. because.. While everyone assumed Monster would follow him up.. That hadn't been set in stone.
There's still no real word that I know of that says Monster will continue to partially sponsor the 45. Again, it's kinda assumed they will, but... That was a Kurt Busch sponsor and.. Kurt isn't in the car anymore.

I read somewhere that are going to still be a sponsor on the 45 for a certain number of races.
It doesn't surprise me.. Well, other than the fact of just how much sponsorship money Monster throws into motorsports and other sponsorships.
They're a partner for the Cup series, that's probably 10 million a year. Between the 45 and 54, that's a full season deal, so.. $20 mil?
They're sponsoring Herbst in Xfinity.. Deegan in Trucks.. They've got PBR, motocross, offroad racing..
Between it all, you almost have to guess that at a minimum, they're spending $75 million in sponsorships.
Now, the fact that.. I don't ever really recall seeing a Monster TV commercial.. I know they've made them, but.. You don't see them with TV spots like Budweiser or anything.

Might be a little OT for this thread but you don't see TV ads for RB much either. I think the demographics speak for themselves. Anyway, what RB does Monster is going to follow. Most car dealerships are near each other for the same reason. If you want to do better, you find better and beat them (or try). It's not done by reinventing the wheel.
