Mall Expansion? Mall of America is already largest in the country, and there is a phase II coming, I think it's still coming, which won't improve the quality of life in the metro, well I personally try to avoid malls and if I do go, I try to go during the week during a time when it's usually pretty dead, and I will go to a smaller mall, not moa, so a mall expansion won't do much for me. But if you're someone who spends all their time at the MOA, then I suppose it would benefit you, and tourists who come here to visit the mall.

How about some unique restaurants, or restaurants that serve food that you can't get elsewhere in the cities. I don't live in the cities, so people that actually live there can come up with much better stuff

Another suggestion which would improve the whole state, and tons of other states, but in Minnesota would be impossible to happen, but no icy roads, and roads that won't crack and fall apart, lol, it is impossible for it to happen, but it would no doubt help everyone a lot, and would eliminate a lot of road construction, and accidents, and we can get rid of the old joke about there being 2 seasons in Minnesota, winter and road construction.

- A better public transportation network. The current system leaves ALOT to be desired. It's improving with new plans for light rail lines, etc. but FAR too slowly!

- Legalize pot

-New Vikings stadium

-Halt on suburban sprawl

I agree with halting sprawl -- tax increase based on distance away from the core
Re-landscape downtown streets and sidewalks completely.... making them more pedestrian-friendly
Loosen laws/regulations about drinking (this state will always drink, accept it), entertainment gains
Spend even more to protect wildlife and parks
Expand transit to create a SYSTEM
Build a world-class air cargo and/or rail port (compete for blue-collar jobs in the Midwest)
Continue to de-segregate the city (black, white, hispanic or Asian dominated areas)
Increase education spending/investing
Offer more hotels around our key distinctive resource (Chain of Lakes)
Build efficiently -- more dense and better planned communities
Set architectural codes and mandate them (think SF, Paris, DC)
Offer/subsidize affordable housing and find a way to make building such profitable
Link to nearby sister cities, such as Madison, CHI, STL, MKE, KC, Duluth, Fargo, etc. with rail/bus

I'm sure I'm missing something but those would all benefit the city, IMO.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this one. They can easily do this by allowing liquor stores to be open on Sundays, expand the hours they can be open, and allow bars to be open past 2am.

Here's what I would imagine is a fair proposal for drinking in the state:

Liqour stores: Open until 10 p.m. M-R, 12 a.m. F-Sa, closed Sundays

Grocery stores / gas stations: Can carry beer or wine only (no liquor) and can sell such until midnight M-R, 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights

Bars: open no earlier than 11 a.m., last call is 2:00 a.m., with possible extention until 3:30 a.m. for a fee

And get rid of 3.2 beer. So dumb.

"Free guns, beer and pizza at the megamall! And two hot chicks that dig me!"
Dream on...

"A '75 Charger, Camaro or Mustang for every high school boy!"
Get real...

"Oh, you mean something for real? How about a sports stadium paid for exclusively by ticket sales?"
Still in full fantasy mode...
