You can even drive to Wisconsin if you are so inclined! (If you live in the North metro, taking a nice Sunday drive along Highway 96 to Wisconsin is quite pleasant, and provides nearly a straightshot to a Wisconsin liquor store if you cross over the lift bridge)

Casino to pay for Vikings stadium.
Looser liquor laws.
More (non-chain) restaurants.

^My whole thing with Sundays is just to add beer/wine, and remove liquor. No hard liquor on Sundays preserves some of the goals of the Christian church. I am Christian, but don't consider drinking on the sabbath a sin, but getting wasted is the last thing I think about.

In all fairness you can visit a new non-chain restaurant in Minneapolis or St. Paul every weekend and it would take decades to see them all. There is tons of variety in the cities -- the suburbs on the other hand....

It wouldn't hurt if the governer would put a virtual border around the twin cities to stop sprawl

That's great if you make the conscious choice not to drink hard liquor on Sunday, but how should that have any bearing on what other people in the state choose to do? You can still practice your Christian values while allowing other people to purchase/consume hard liquor on Sundays.

Again, compromise will be king in making any kind of change. I'd start with Sundays...

How about a downtown central park. I saw some old designs that showed if the Vikings stadium moved there would be a park space there. What do people think or should this be its own thread?

I've brought this idea up in the forum before. I think it'd be an excellent idea in the event that the new Vikings stadium isn't located there.

The two downtown's (MPLS and St Paul) must be linked by light rail; -- they are working on this -- its a good thing. Clean up Hennepin avenue with a heavier police presence.. theres too much ghetto action moving in... get 'em outta there quick or you will see downtown decay faster than a meth heads choppers! Light rail and other mass transit is foolish to stop running after bars clse.. thats when we need them the most to keep drunks off the road... they should run main routes all night... lastly but not least - Get rid of all the damn republicans fighting every effort to improve this beautioful city -- They faught against light rail -- thank god they lost because I think its the best thing thats happened to this city in a long long time.... Otherwise folks -- Youve got a alot to be proud of.. Minneapolis is a great city!
