Hey how did you make these maps? With color and all? I was going to map a gang map with the actual gang colors. On each street that I know they are active on

That'd be interesting, and I'm actually looking forward to it ... What Californian city are you planning on doing?

It's pretty easy actually, you just go over to Google Maps, sign in, and there's a tutorial for making this sort of map. There's also the Google Map Maker.

The only real problem I've had is that once you do a certain number of areas (to put the color is a breeze, just press on the layer of the area and you can choose it), the new ones will only appear in another page, so it's a little problematic in avoiding overlaps - as you're doing the map but cannot see all the ones already done, only when you sign out - and if it's on Public, setting - you can see all of them at once. The workaround is getting the KML (right click the KML (there's a little logo next to it) on the map page and copy and paste the link of it on the Google Maps search engine, then you click anywhere on the left shoulder of the page, wait about 2-5 seconds, and only then click enter on the search engine.

And your idea is pretty darn good. Good luck doing the map!

Thanks Winterfront! If you have any other details on the Homestead area, just mention it here - I'll be doing a full review of the map soon - although only a few areas will be modified, probably.

Winterfront answered already, but if you have any specs/info on the MDC Kendall area, you can just post here and I'll put it into my list for the upcoming review.

Hi JacobMAX, thanks so much for the map, it is very useful. There's a chance that me + family will move to Miami by Q4 of this year and this map has been really useful for us. Husband's office, hypothetically, if he got the job, will be in Doral area while I will work from home. Just a question though, I've read that Doral has some nice communities, but why is the colour in the map 'normal green' instead of dark green? Thanks!

Mainly because it's not as good to live/not up to par overall (considering all aspects) when comparing to the dark green (the best and the nearly best - like Pinecrest, most of Coral Gables, Key Biscayne, etc.) neighborhood. (Note: That can possibly change though, as I'm still finishing the full review that I was, and am currently finishing doing.) But it's pretty good overall, safe, nicely built, that's why it's solid/normal green. The north end of it (light green) isn't as nice and has a slightly worse (number of people in) poverty rate, is denser (in a bad way) and a few complexes have issues partially due to the landfill nearby. And thanks for the support!

I have to confess that I really hated Crisp's map for that same reason. >< This new map cleaned my neighborhood's name
