Was his name Archie Bunker?

No, Archie was a good guy compared to this one. This guy needs to go back to New York.

How did you know he was a republican? did he show you his card? or was he 'profiled'?

Because he started talking politics related to the Republican Party.

You have to be careful. The part of Queens in which the story was based had a lot of conservative Democrats in the late 1960s.

Quote:
Archie is a Republican and an outspoken supporter of Richard Nixon, as well as an early (1976) supporter of Ronald Reagan; he correctly predicts Reagan's election in 1980. During the Vietnam War, Archie dismisses peace protesters as unpatriotic and has little good to say about the civil rights movement.

Archie Bunker claimed he was Republican, as reflected by his admiration of President Richard Nixon; and later President Ronald Reagan.

Why does it seem that Florida has so many crazy, angry people?

Because most of them come from the Northeast, where they were already crazy and angry.

Did he say he was a Republican, or did you ASSume he was a Republican because he maybe liked hunting or car races or drinking or whatever you assume Republicans (because they are all exactly alike, right?), like? Because there's a whole hell of a lot of people in Florida who you might stereotype as Republicans but are Democrats. A LOT more than you know.

The angry ones probably couldn't afford the high cost of living in the NE anymore where there are better hospitals, low crime, less crowded suburbs, and no oppressive heat for 8-9 months out of the year like Florida has. They moved to Florida for the cheap way out and are unhappy, no wonder they are angry in Florida

The lastest couple I know who moved to Florida last year is very unhappy they left suburban NY for Florida.
