Good solid heavy rain right now, and forecast for showers the next few days - till near the end of Feb.
This spells the death knell for summer, and the start of an autumn weather pattern - which is the best time of the year here without doubt.
March can still get hot, but the chance of really hot days diminishes rapidly by mid-month.

Just wait until El Niño comes in full swing. NOAA is forecasting El Niño so that means dry times ahead for Australia if I'm correct
