This is heading towards winter so a high of 6c is brill.

Apparently pattern change on 15th November.

Love a 2010 style winter, except it would last for three months and much colder and snowier.

Ah the year Hitler invaded Russia. Very cold for Moscow as well (I downloaded the data). Even the winters with snow extending into April had an 80°F day by early May (upstate NY).

Yeah but that above was the 1940-41 winter. Hitler invaded in June 1941. But the winters 39-40, 40-41 and 41-42 were throughout Europe of the coldest on record. In 1941 we got the only permanent snow cover on record in October, and that had of course an impact on the battle for Moscow. Also the spring 1942 was the second coldest on record here, but the snow still melted earlier than the year before.
