I'm so happy right now because elderberry started blooming a few days ago, and today I picked 250 flowers which are currently soaking in water with lemon and sugar, so in a few days 25 liters of elderflower cordial, the tastiest drink in the world, will be ready. I can't wait!
Sound interesting. Do you mix booze with that?
Whoops, wrong nickname. Should have written that with my galaxyman account.

I personally don't drink alcohol, nor does anyone from my family, but I don't know what others do. I just mix it with water or spread it over pancakes or dip fruit in it.

Why?
What does it taste like? Elderberry don't grow here, so I have no experiences of the fruit.

The berries are very sour and bitter, but the cordial (made of flowers) has a unique flowery sweet taste. It's kind of hard to describe because it's nothing like any normal juice.
Also, the berries are pretty poisonous when eaten raw.
One thing: remember to have some coins, as the train ticket machines on Schiphol Airport will not accept your foreign credit card, visa electron or so forth. And they don't sell tickets on the train. You can take the bus, but the train is much more convenient.
When back to the airport, the Amsterdam Centraal train station has a lot of ticket machines, but they don't accept foreign credit cards as well, so be prepared with some coins.

Good to know. Thanks for the tip! I'd rep you, but I must spread the love first.
