FINALLY! A great forecast for Portland!

Over an inch of rain falling on Saturday, 55°F and sun forecasted next week, and cold air possibly coming into the PNW the week after and bringing high quality pow to the mountains.

It's possible all areas north of I-4 could see freezing weather next Monday.

Count them.. 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8 Storms (plus weaker ones as well) since December 1st.

Dec 15-17 and Jan 5-6 were great tracks for a snowstorm here but there wasn't cold air around for those. Meanwhile there was cold air around in November and cold air around in North Carolina for December 8th.

Amount of snow that fell after the Mid November snowstorm?

NYC: Trace
Islip: Trace
Boston: 0.1"
Allentown: 0.1"
Newark: 0.1"
Providence: 0.3"
Hartford: 0.4"
Bridgeport: 0.5"
Worcester: 1.3"

I am only happy about the weather here because of the snow.

Freezes down to I-4 aren't uncommon at all. As of currently there doesn't seem to be any significant threat to farmers. If the potential cold is upgraded though and freezing temps extend down to I-75 that would be problematic for agriculture.

Bright side it goes back to seasonal temps afterwards.

Day after tomorrow coming? Lmao.

Not sure if it will be persistent but could be interesting. Should we start an Arctic Blast thread and list the previous ones? or wait a little more?

^^^^^

I guess that the eastern two thirds of the lower 48 states can forget about ever having seasonal weather pattern now. Welp, this would be one of my many excuses to relocate to a warmer climate
