I see a max of 10 here on LI on the 5th, according to WU.

I expect it to moderate, but wow that would be the coldest max since '94.

Actual low was -32. There was a bit of radiative cooling but it was intermittently windy too.

lol. I say the same thing in the summer or October when its hot and humid like the Tropics. lol

Although this past summer wasn't bad and in fact we had these troughs in the East and I remember a few of us wondering if it would continue for winter. Sure is after a reverse in Fall.

So many interesting stats being generated from all this. I agree, in a way I want to storm to stay further out to sea so we can keep this streak going. That storm seems like the only thing that would ruin it. Wonder how many other years a coastal storm ruined a streak

Wasn't there just a discussion this past year that NYC would never get that cold again due to the UHI?

Let's see what plays out.

Here in southcentral Texas hills, forecast is 24° tonight, 31° with chance of sleet on New Years Day. I found this on NOAA, Happy New Year and my fervent hope for a better year!
