Today's high temp was 18.9°C, 1.7°C below average; and this mornings low (which most likely will not stick based on the forecast) was 10.6°C, 2.3°C above average

Currently 18.9°C with a dewpoint of -19.4°C at 5pm Mountain Time

Wow!

Current Alerts.. Is that Winter Storm Warning for Texas? Maybe someone can post a message from there?

Closer up

And since this is special lets look at the flow way up there... Not a setup we see often or in December.

Interesting and I see why the front cant pass Florida with this configuration. Bottom of the ridge still hanging on there + the Sub Tropical Jet Stream is in play..

I also see why the Jet stream is digging to Mexico on a positive tilt. The Atlantic Ridge doesn't wanna budge. And that's the reason for coastal snow in Mid Atlantic and Northeast. Cool to see everything happening

7pmEST Dec 7, 2017 Map

Lastly... Perfect look at the cold air mass aloft which is pushing SouthWestward.. Awesome.

5000' temps. Below freezing down to Mexico. And yes,, weather models had this 7+ days ago.

Impressive looking tilt; usually doesn't tilt so much that cold air spills southwest, right?
