It’s starting to look like the upcoming winter might be showing shades of 2013-2014 in the Indianapolis area, I am sure that if such a winter materializes, cold and snow lovers will be elated, but I know I won’t be happy about it............

Don't buy into maps 90 days out. My area will be very warm while you have a cooler winter than i will.

It depends on several factors, including indices that can only be predicted a few weeks out like: PNA, NAO, and AO. These, combined with the "weak La Nina" will likely result in an extreme temperature variation across the northern US compared to the Southeast with an active storm track in between. The caveat against this is if La Nina strengthens more and a blowtorch zonal flow dominates the US and floods the country with mild Pacific air. That would be a horrible scenario that I wouldn't care for after the last several mild winters.

Hopefully not. I'm hoping for a winter more along the lines of 2008-09.

That winter was mixed here. December started warm and dry, then turned cool and wet in the middle, then finished warm and dry again; and January and February were warm and dry

That would suck, since it means you can't post on here the entire winter

Let's be honest, 99% of your posts are on the days that Seattle is sunny and above average. You go into ghost mode the moment Seattle gets below average departures
