That is insane for May. What's the record for may for you? That would be a monthly record here.

We've hit 84, which is still the 2nd warmest day of the year for Pittsburgh (behind only yesterday).

90° here. Watering plants like it was the dog days of Summer.

Water temps are in the 50s off the coast.

Instability clouds and storms showing up now. That will hault any further temp increase for some.

Yellow outline = severe storms possible. Lake Breeze creating storms?

3pm Temp Map. HOT WOW.

Zoomed out. Snowstorm in CO and WY while New England is as hot as Florida.

Wind direction at 5000' plus temps.

National Weather Service : Observed Weather for past 3 Days : Miami, Miami International Airport

Even here in HWO it didn't drop below 78 F last night.
NWS shows MIA with a low of 26.7°C yesterday morning, they did have a low of 24.4°C Tuesday morning

Interesting its cloudy with the low relative humidity and dewpoints in eastern Massachusetts. Instabilty, maybe; but with air this dry I wouldn't expect much clouds. Summit of Mt. Washington is 52% humidity, air column appears dry below. Or maybe the clouds are from further up?

We get 90s and dews in the 50s, 40s is unusual.

Boston may well end up recording a higher overall May temperature than my location. Simply ludicrous, especially considering that my local station seems to overestimate temperatures to a considerable degree.

It shouldn't even be physically possible for locations above 40 degrees north to approach 100 degrees in May. I can't believe that I ever thought the Northeast had a decent climate.

What about locations at 40 North having highs in the 30s in May? Thats quite absurd too

Well, looking at Boston's weather data for this month, the greatest negative anomaly is 8.8 degrees while the greatest positive anomaly is 17.8 degrees (yesterday). The same holds true for the rest of the Northeast, at least upon a cursory glance (looking at Buffalo and Caribou).

So it seems that the extremes of heat are eclipsing the extremes of cold by a considerable margin.

And none of the stations I checked (including Caribou) had highs in the 30s this May, so I must have missed something.

It's kinda what keeps me here. The variety is fun, interesting, yet crazy to deal with. lol

Things moving fast next week too. In and out. Up and Down. Fronts and Storms. Nothing too interesting until............

Opposite pattern next week. 7-8 days out but models agree. Would mean highs in the 70s down south.

Don't worry southern New England, see next frame as the air mass moves east.

Thursday May 25th 850mb anomalies per Euro

Friday 850mb anomalies

Todays 850mb Anomalies
