I think I'd snap if this May ends up anything like the last one. I don't see us being trapped in the same omega block pattern, but that doesn't mean it can't be cool and cloudy. I want warm and sunny.
I dont get the logic of people who go out half naked in 50 degree weather but are scared of a little rain. Surely a bit of warm rain is preferable to 50 degree weather, no?
Horrible wet and windy day today in Edmonton, temperature of about 2°C and rain all day and a stiff easterly at about 30km/h all day. Now the rain has changed to a rain-snow mix and will become all snow overnight.
Snowfall warning has been extended to now include Edmonton:

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.
A major spring storm is forecast to bring as much as 25 cm of snow to east-central Alberta on Friday.
An intense low pressure system currently over Montana will spread snow into the Bonnyville and southern sections of the Fort McMurray regions tonight. Total amounts of 25 cm are possible by the time the snow ends early Saturday morning. Strong northeasterly winds will also develop and give widespread reduced visibilities in blowing snow.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.storm.ec@canada.ca or tweet
Too cold and wet for me to take photos outside; you'll have to suffice with webcams. Snow is accumulating south and west of Edmonton and it's heading this way.
