CFSv2 still wants to bring back warmer than average temps beyond the 8-14 day period

Notice I never post an image 14 days away. If I do its for a laugh or something interesting. But its really a joke to look at (I know you know)

Also, I rarely post multiple day averages like 6-10 days. That's a joke because it could be well below normal on Day 6 but above normal 7-10 yet the map will show light blues as if there was no well above or well below normal days. I hate multiple day averages.

Just like looking at a monthly departure not telling the whole story..

I look for trends in the models and I post them mostly for fun too. Unfortunately, like you said, beyond 6-10 day it's like flipping a coin.

Warm morning in the Midwest

MDW has not dipped below 70 degrees all night

Neither has ORD

I also look at his posts and have an idea what the trend is. lol

If he's well below normal I have to get ready to be well above. If he's starting to warm back up and back to normal this weekend, I assume I will be cooling back down. And that's exactly the case. lol

Highs of 60s this weekend (normal is 70). I'll be enjoying the next 3 days, hard to come by lately.. but where are the 70s?

Yesterday in Oklahoma.

Maybe an even bigger risk tomorrow in the Plains. Moderate risk already issued, so it wouldn't be surprising if there's an upgrade to high risk.

On Monday (May 15), the high temperature in Athens, GA was 90°F, making it the first such day of 2017. Ironically, the low temperature that morning was 55°F, and I was able to see my breath in the streetlight outside before the sun rose.

Yesterday (May 16), the high temperature was 91°F, and today (May 17) the high is forecast to be 90°F. Forecast highs get as hot as 93°F on Saturday (May 20), before stormy weather moves in Sunday-Tuesday (May 21-23) and temperatures return to normal.

Also today, the high temperature in Pittsburgh is forecast to be 88°F, which begs the question: Will today be the warmest day in Pittsburgh in 2017?
