Holy ****, 19 F in Grand Portage, MN at 7 PM. Apparently the predicted low is 25 F

Here it's 79 F with a 69 F dew point at the moment, warm and muggy.

Did you see what I said about the potential for upper 50's/low 60's here around May 6th? Would be a nice treat if it happens.

It would be, but I highly doubt it'll materialize.

I start caring less about "cold snaps" here in May because they're not really cool to begin with. I'd rather wet season get an early start in all honesty.

Not me, May's still a month where comfortable weather is possible under the right circumstances, I remember last year having a 78/63 day with dewpoints in the 30's and 40's. Late May/Early June is when I give up on any idea of dry or cool weather and just root for lots of thunderstorms/tropical systems.

Realistically, meaning once in every 20 or 30 years, May could look could look like this (These numbers are for Key Biscayne, obviously inland daytime temps would much hotter and lows would be cooler):

Average High: 81.8F

Average Low: 69.8F

Minimum temp: 57F

Maximum Temp: 90F

Min High: 77F

Max Low: 77F

Avg Dewpoint: 60F

Precip: 3.7"

Yeah, early May can still see decent cold fronts from time to time.

I wish September/October saw cold fronts as easily as April/early May down here I HATE the summer seasonal lag.

Yeah, It's pretty much hopeless until Mid-October. What makes it especially frustrating is how everywhere else cools down so rapidly.

Looking at this is giving me hope...Why can't we get patterns like this in winter??? This would mean mid-30's in January

Yeah, especially in October/November, North FL can easily be 30-40 F colder than down here in terms of overnight lows it's almost stupid how often fronts stall during autumn here. Easily our most frustrating season.

I remember when I lived in Tallahassee when it was late October in 2013, we had a low of 38 F one night and Miami had a low of like 79 F lol. I looked at the weather map and never felt so lucky.

The line of storms weakened quite a bit as it came thru here. Still had some pretty cool cloud formations as the leading edge came thru.

Yeah lol, it sucks. I feel like we've been lucky with Novembers lately though, at least compared to other months.

Edit: here are the temp departures for the last 11 Novembers, in fact, over the last 11 years November has been the only month to average below normal.

2006: -1.9
2007: 0.0
2008: -3.1
2009: +0.8
2010: -1.1
2011: +0.4
2012: -3.5
2013: +2.2
2014: -2.3
2015: +3.5
2016: -0.3
