Looks like someone photoshopped a late summer sun over a mid-January landscape. Seeing the sun this strong and the three feet of snow lying around seems like something out of an Isaac Asimov novel
Thus far in BInghamton, March 2017 (24.9F) is the coldest month since January 2016 (24.4F). This February had an average of 31.5F, so barring a miraculous turnaround we're pretty much guaranteed with a significantly colder March than February. Not even just a little colder, like A LOT colder. Spring in Upstate NY does not start just because the calendar says March

To expect the seasons to change on the flip of a calendar is silly. Not going to go from freezing cold and snow on February 28th to sunshine and 60 degrees with flowers blooming on March 1st. Not to mention February was one of the warmest on record.
Spring is a transition season...a battle that occurs between winter and summer with warmth, sun, and blooms winning out in the end.

Not to mention March is overall a chilly month anyways, much closer weather wise to January than July (which should be expected). A flip of a calendar doesn't mean trees are gonna be blooming, it's gonna be 70 degrees and sunny all of a sudden. The people who are "surprised" by March/early April snows sound silly, especially when they live in a place that it's not unusual to get snow and chilly weather at that time of year. These people are surprised by the same snowfalls every single year it seems.
That being said, I can see why three feet of snow and having the coldest month of winter being March can be a slap in the face. But the endless whining after having a very warm winter and like 90% of previous months being well above average seems a bit over the top. Can't handle one cold month? Seriously.....
Anyways a high diurnal range here today. Started off cool at 55 F and warmed up to 84 F. If there's a time of year with high diurnal ranges it's usually this time of year (late winter and early spring).

Pictures?
Larger than normal diurnal range here today but overall pretty close to average, low of 59F this morning warming up to 81F.
