This time of year if its sunny outside the snow will melt no matter the temperature.

This is because, even though the ambient air temperature may be below freezing, the surface (road, sidewalk, car, roof, etc.) is warmer because of the sun.

It's almost like people don't have experience with it. I just experienced full sun and no snow melt in Mid March (15th). You are forgetting the fact there if there is a layer of sleet within or on top of the snowpack it will prevent melting.

You're also forgetting that a refreeze into ICE at night will also make it hard to melt during the day

Settling, evaporation, and ground absorbtion YES, melting with temps in the 20s, No.

I will forever use this March as the example. Was rare and interesting to see here. 20s and 30s with full sun lack of melting but as soon as it hit 40s it started melting

Absolutely incorrect.

Absolutely incorrect.
Can guarantee there were full blown puddles at -10c and full sun that day.

February 28 high was -9.7c

Sorry Cambium but I see it myself. I'll even go as far as saying that a full sun (not partly sunny) that is around freezing or a little bit below freezing will melt the snow/sleet/ice more than no sun but temperatures just above freezing.

You have to realize the surface of the road/ground/car etc. that the snow sits on is warmer because of the sun than the ambient air temperature.

I've seen snow melt with temperatures in the Mid-20's in Colorado.

What?? Now I see why you're debating it.... Road??? blacktop??? Come on, you're comparing apples to oranges now. OF COURSE sun on road will melt if temps in 20s. I'm talking about a snowpack.. without pavement, salt or vehicle factors. (Grass where we do our measurements)

Jan 8th 4 inches of snow melted in 3 days.
March 14th 8 inches of snow taking over 7 days.

Guess why even though its middle of March and sun is higher, the temps were in the 40s and 50s January 10 & 11 and there was no sleet/ice layer involved.

March 15th 8.2"
March 16th 7.8". Guess why it didn't melt...IN SUN... Temps stayed in the 20s and there was a layer of sleet on top.

SUN IS NOT THE BIGGEST FACTOR. People need to stop saying that.
