I didn't know they don't support temperature below 14°F(-10°C). But now it make sense because there's no space for minus two digits in celcius.

So far we're running 11 degrees below normal this month. Averaging 31/12F so far. Only one day was above normal, and only by a fraction of a degree. This is wild.

If we had an +11 degree departure in July it'd be hotter than Dallas.

It's a bit odd to compare our summer anomalies with winter ones, because the Northeast is prone to wild temp fluctuations and extreme patterns during winter, whereas summers are relatively predictable with small deviations from the average.

But yeah, this February has really been nothing short of extraordinary. I didn't even know that a month this cold was possible here (not that I'm complaining!).

That's actually an interesting perspective. Shows how far the anomaly is even comparing to the heat side.

How far north is the normal of our average now?

--------------

New perspective... Nobody alive today seen a month this cold for the Hartford,CT area. Average temp of 15.5°F with 9 days left. Coldest is/was 16.5° Feb 1934

Amherst CO-OP has 11.50°F as the monthly mean so far, Feb 1934 was 11.55°F. Probably will come in second coldest. Unfortunately, Bradley-Hartford doesn't go back before 1949, it's currently 2°F colder than the coldest Februrary on record. Usually I'd say it's premature to call it as there's still time left for non-extreme weather. But other than Sunday, most days look very cold.

North? As in how far north you'd have to go for this month to be an average there? Caribou, Maine averages colder (13.2°F) than your Februray so far but warmer than mine. My February so far is colder than an average February in Montreal.

Awesome! Thanks. In fact 8F isn't that bad! Problem is my body getting used to this and now 20s will be warm and 30s miserable. Ugh. Enjoy it while it lasts I guess.

So being I experienced something I never did before, I will confirm my thoughts that I need a much colder monthly average than 13F and why the average max of 40 is pure misery for February.

The air pressure today of 30.40 inHg was the highest it's been since January 24, 2014.

Also, yesterday was the record latest in the year the daily mean has been at least a 20F anomaly.
