GFS12z Sounding for D.C 1am Monday. Love the temp profile for Mid Atlantic north of Richmond and Higher Elevations of Kentucky, WV, Virginia where GFS is showing a nice little snow event for while Clear and cold north of Baltimore.
Now with the Euro long Range. Maybe it's my Christmas present for January 2nd. Or Maybe its just a "wish" list.
Northeast close-up 850T with plots. -20C over me? Yeah, that equates to near 10F at surface which would be close to extreme for beginning of January. Record is 5F Jan 1. 2F Jan 2.
And you were the one saying it was going to remain warm.
lol, well, that frame is January 2nd which is long range. Notice it keeps getting pushed back and back. We'll see. And question is, will it be in and out??

Cold & seasonable at times, yes... 2+ days of Arctic well below normal temps... looks like over 10-14 day wait again.
Which puts us around the Jan 2nd timeframe which is after holidays and 10+ days out. We'll see.
I like the idea of one shot of it but getting it sustained I would say after mid January or maybe not at all this winter but that's too early to say.
Confirmed tornado near Columbia, Mississippi right now. (west of Hattiesburg)
