Yeah, that was interesting to see. NWS calling for chance of thunder here tomm. SPC has slight risk of storms up to NJ.

Check out todays reports so far. 14 tornadoes (some reports of same tornado on ground). 4 dead in Mississippi from Tornado

Looks like it was pretty good in SE Louisiana especially Terrebonne Parish in the far south. But I have to wonder why the lightning died out when it got over New Orleans.

Not sur if it's related, but my hands have been parched for a few days. The dew point in Nice hasn't been that low though, around 0°C at best.
weather station at 3580 m? Didn't know there was one reporting data. Will watch that one. Sometimes higher altitude locations can record very dry dewpoints if above the cloud layer and with descending air. Mt. Washington recorded a dew point of -42°F but the relative humidity wasn't as lower as Jungfraujoch.

Latest GFS on left vs 3 runs ago on right for same time frame of New Years Eve Morning Minimum temp..

It had Atlanta at 31° with yesterdays update, now shows 53°.

Total Respect to forecasters out there. This is why your forecast changes so much and often especially past 4 days! But that's a big difference.

Not sure which is being shown more or what Euro says, cold or warm. If I was a forecaster I would just go with the middle for now. 40s for Atlanta next Wednesday morning..

Yikes! 500mb Heights & Current temps.

575 Heights peaking at latitude 42°N in Atlantic near Boston. 545 Heights down to Latitude 33N in Texas.

Temps are 15-30 above normal East of Mississippi. Ohio temps have been nuts.

Akron Ohio. Normal Max is 35 now. They've been getting into the 40s and 50s since mid month

It's still relatively pleasant in the south coast, even in Finland.
