You quit buying when you didn't get what you want. Good for you. EA only understands not making enough money.
It's the only real weapon we have, as I see it. Complete agreement. They're perfectly capable of making a much better game, but it was easier for them to just buy the exclusive license and create the annual shovelware offering without competition. If I supported them in that, I'd be acting counter to my interests.
Unfortunately, too many people buy the game by reflex on an annual basis. EA knows that this game, no matter how shoddy, will generate X amount of gross revenue relative to Y amount of development and marketing costs, equaling profit. That gives them no incentive to invest more energy and potentially rock the boat or take risks. I blame the NCAA for selling an exclusive license to begin with, but there's a reason some of us CFB fans say it stands for 'National Conspiracy Against Athletes' or 'No Consistency At All.'
Can older people play sports, football, basketball, etc? Of course. Likewise, they can also play games on their TV's or PC's. Now days, some of the most popular games are not meant for kids in any sense, such as Gears of War 2 or Left 4 Dead or Call of Duty 4. That's why they have the ESRB ratings like 'mature' on them, kids can't buy these games.
there are those of us whom will always play video games, i can see myself being 80 and barely being able to walk but still sittin on the couch with (insert console of the time here) controller in hand and shooting something, or sovling a puzzle to get to the next area or whatever id happen to be playing at the time, and yes gaming has its bonuses at that age for hand eye and keeping the brain fucntioning, in fact a couple of years ago i read an article somewhere where a doctor had stated that it was beneficial for someone who had suffered a stroke to play video games because it would start getting feeling back into the hand
Once the X-ers take over the whole notion of video games being just for kids will be dead to the world. The Wii and its senior citizen niche market are already putting a nail in that coffin.
pretty much anyone who is younger than 30 grew up in the video game era.. im 27 and have been playing video games since as far back as i can remember, starting with atari 2600 and colecovision, and at least 1 sysyem from every generation since... and im playing call of duty online right now as we speak lol
I'm 55 and I've been playing Half Life 2 for about 3 years now. I love the game! I'm in a Clan and everything, LOL! My wife thinks I'm nuts and she's probably right but what the hell, I'm havin' fun!
I never used to be into RPGs. I would sit down and play a racing game to burn off some stress. THEN my daughter got me into Animal Crossing, she has to fight me for the controller.

Good for you! I'm 44 and leaning towards a PSP in addition to my 360.
