Exclamation David Letterman Retiring

David Letterman announced today that he is retiring from his show next year. It will be interesting to see what happens to the show.

They should, and I'm betting will, hire Conan O'Brien.

That would be poetic justice against NBC.. Another 20+ years of the guy they let get away competing against them.

He's announcing it on tonight's show, which was taped earlier today. I'm not surprised. Whenever I have watched (which is rare), he looks tired.

Is CraigyFerg gonna be upset if he's not promoted? I haven't watched in so long, I'm outta the loop.

I love Craig Ferguson, but I seriously doubt he'll get David Letterman's spot.

Craig is a little too raunchy for that earlier time slot.

Craig's humor involves lots of sex jokes and lots of gay jokes. He uses his "gay" skeleton puppet Geoffrey Peterson as his sidekick for the entire show. Craig also gets bleeped a lot during the show.

I think many older adults probably wouldn't appreciate Craig's type of humor.

That's probably why they keep Craig in his current 12:30am time slot.

David Letterman's humor is more light hearted, and not as controversial.

I'm guessing they'll replace Letterman with someone whose humor is more similar to Letterman.

Jon Stewart from Comedy Central's The Daily Show might be a good choice.

Jerry Seinfeld would be another good choice.

.
Letterman could be pretty raunchy in his earlier years. I remember the bit with the old lady who would stand up in the audience and just start spewing profanities at Letterman they would have to bleep out every other word. Letterman would act mildly offended. The old lady would show up every month or two.
