I haven't watched him in years. I used to watch obsessively and even once went to a taping of his show when he traveled to SF for a week many years ago. It's funny because, at the time, going to that show was one of the coolest things I ever did but I stopped watching him right after that.

I happen to think Letterman is very funny, and he's good when he has people on that talk about real issues.
I really liked the fact that Obama came on his show.
Now I'm just waiting for Sarah Palin to come on .

You said it, the move to CBS, the lamest network on the air.

And why can't they talk about world hunger on an entertainment show?
I think that they are right when they say it is embarrassing that there are fifty million starving children in the "best country in the world".
Why can't they talk about world hunger? Because it is an entertainment show, an American entertainment show. There are *numerous* commercials on American TV begging for money, leave late night entertainment shows out of the begging/boohoo this is wrong/bad arena....

Entertainment:
1. The act of entertaining.
2. The art or field of entertaining.
3. Something that amuses, pleases, or diverts, especially a performance or show.
4. The pleasure afforded by being entertained; amusement: The comedian performed for our entertainment.

In 2007 there were 946 billionaires in the world, are they concerned about the 50 million starving children in the world?

Was it also wrong of him to talk about 9/11 when it happened?

What do you expect from a former "weatherman"? He has no people skills.

He repeats things over and over. It's not funny.

I just watched him tonight, and his rant just cemented my belief that he is so tired of his show, and he's becoming this tired old grumpy man. Yelling into the TV, doesn't even know his guest, goes through the motions. Him and Paul seem like your grampa and his buddy, arguing back and forth and nobody else knows what the heck is going on.
I feel kind of sad, because he was so cool in the 90's. He'll still be the current king of late night (behind Johnny), but he needs to retire.

What I don't get is why do you people watch something that you don't enjoy? Why complain about him when all you have to do is change the channel. I hate Jay Leno but my solution to that is I simply don't watch him.
Luckily there are still plenty of people, myself included, who feel Dave is one of the best!
