We always thought Letterman was a jerk. He proves it on a regular basis.

THE most overpaid performer in the history of modern entertainment.

Same here, I watched Letterman for a long time, up until a few years ago. Back in the old days (80's-90's) his show was funny IMO. He was always doing all kinds of wacky things like Conan does and I tuned in almost every night just to see what kind of hilarious stunt or skit Letterman would do next. Nowadays he just has this angry, nasty edge to him that is extremely unpleasant. He's just simply not funny anymore. I don't what has happened to him in recent years but whatever it is, it isn't good. In his own words from the article above- "I'm not mad at Rachael -- there's just something wrong with me. I'm just nuts."

I quit watching Letterman several years ago. The guy is not very nice to his guests and his rudeness bothers me. He is no longer entertaining. It's like he has some huge chip on his shoulder. I don't like seeing it played out on a show that is supposed to be funny and entertaining.

He's turned out to be a very angry guy.

I used to kind of like him, and getting tough on errant guests was at times part of the appeal, but a few years ago I quit because I just got the sense he was sick of it. I don't know how to explain that, he just gave a vibe of "why am I still doing this?" whereas before it was more like "This is aggravating sometimes, but overall I love it." And I just felt like if he's sick of being on the air, or is going to present himself as sick of it, than I'm sick of it too.

Still think Letterman is better that Leno - that said, he should have retired years ago, like maybe 5 or 10 and hung it up with some dignity. Perhaps it has been since his bypass that he's seemed so much worse.

Letterman is way more talented than Leno or Conan(who is not even in the same league with either) but the problem is not only are Letterman and Leno getting too old to continue and be fresh but the concept of their type show is so passé.

Last time I saw Letterman he still had the barefoot guitarist, Hiram Bullock

I don't watch much TV. Highly recommended.

On NBC he was humorous. After the move to CBS, however, he just got totally lame for some reason.
