Not odd at all - THIS thread was asking what the scandal was about with David Letterman - and people are responding to the OP. Why does that seem odd to you?

I just think that because this story has had so much air time and Dave himself helped that. My fear is that some women might come out of the closet and just make false statements to get money. SAying Dave said this or i don;'t think I got promoted because I didn't sleep with Dave. I think he has opened the door. THe real issue is that when a story like this breaks it makes it harder on Women and Men who have had issues in the workplace like this.

He wasn't that famous. Dave is, and he makes jokes about people who get caught in affairs, so we care about he does.

In all the discussion prior the replacement of Leno by Conan, it was frequently noted that Leno was the top rated late night show in audience ratings.

Yea, he'd only led for FOURTEEN YEARS by then. So, I provided a link. Now it's YOUR TURN to provide a link where Letterman has led Leno since then. I mean, you never provide any links with your arguments.

@BSwede: What's the fun in that?

Tex, chill. The original question was rather poorly thought out, considering Jay is on a different station, in a different time slot, and has just started his own show which is not fairing so well.

As for this whole Letterman hating, let it go. Look up the term Hypocrite and find out that he may be bitter, but he isn't being hypocritical.

As for his bitterness? I liked him better a good 20 years ago myself. He had more life. He seems to be in a Carlin rut, where cleverness is supplanted by bitterness at the world. I am SURE being blackmailed and then challanged on his own life's practices won't help THAT at all.

But people coming out and screaming for his head are, for the most part, not fans to begin with. His ratings have gone UP because of this "scandal" and people are getting way too involved with something that, as I said in another post, makes a hill of beans look important.
