The style may be different but I find Kimmel's sense of the absurd to be very similar to Letterman's, what kept me tuning in all those years.
Maybe that's why I gravitated to Kimmel.
I guess it's because I'm old, but I don't feel comfortable with Jimmy Fallon, even though I think he's very talented. And Stephen Colbert...I don't know...too hyper for a whole hour. I do catch Fallon and Colbert in clips on You Tube, and they are both very talented...just not quite to my taste.
Just saw the news that Dave's mom died. Now that I think back, it was when I happened to be flipping channels and saw her appearing on one of his shows that I started liking Letterman. It made him so human. RIP.
I don't feel, sorry for him one bit , he made a fortune making fun of other people affairs with women , I bet their family's also felt like they'd been in a car crash listening to him joking about it, plus hes a liberal of the worst kind , smug bastard , glad to see him go .
We saw him induct Pearl Jam into the Rock Hall of Fame this past Friday in Brooklyn. He was a last minute replacement for Neil Young who was ill. I was always a fan of Dave's, but I'd forgotten just how great he is. He gave a beautiful induction speech the other night. I always hated Leno - Dave was my fave late night host.
Who would you consider to be a liberal of the best kind, please?
