"Authorities are investigating after a man was stabbed and carjacked in broad daylight.
Police and firefighters were called to the parking lot of Cumberland Farms at 744 Branch Avenue just after noontime Friday.
Arriving crews found the victim, a 29-year-old man, stabbed in the abdomen and punched in the eye, according to a Deputy Assistant Chief with Providence Fire Dept."
"The victim stated to police that he and the stabbing suspect had previously come to an agreement over text messages that the victim was going to trade him his Nike Air Jordan sneakers for crack cocaine and agreed to meet in the Cumberland Farms parking lot.
The victim stated that he drove from his residence in Johnston to the location and met with the suspect, who told him to drive behind his vehicle.
According to the victim, they stopped and the suspect and another man entered into his vehicle to trade the items.
The victim said the suspect then stated to the other man, who was sitting directly behind the driver's seat in the rear passenger's seat, to "get him" and began choking him, as the suspect pulled out an unknown blunt object and stabbed the victim in his right eye and chest.
The victim said he was able to flee the scene and told police one of the two suspects drove off with his car."
5th I believe -- two at 7-11, two at GI Joes across the street, and one just a few houses away on Smith Street.
Correct. Since MP asked for the map, here is a zoom in on that neighborhood:
October incidents are in gray, September in black. You see the two shootings at GI Joe's, and the October shooting at 7/11. The one that just happened has yet to be added. August is in orange, where you can see the incident at 480 Smith St., and one at 612 Chalkstone St.. October also saw an incident at Chalkstone & Osborne St.. Troublesome area, for sure.

"two men reportedly knocked a 17-year-old boy to the ground and ripped his Adidas Yeezy sneakers off Thursday.
The teen told police that two tall males followed him off a bus at Mount Pleasant Avenue and Hendrick Street. While he was walking down Hendrick Street, one of the suspects knocked him to the ground, while another held him down and pulled off his white, blue and black sneakers."
There were 3 shootings and a shots fired incident in Providence over the weekend.
1. A drunk 18 year old woman was shot near Douglas Avenue & Berkshire Street. That's in Wanskuck (on the edge of Elmhurst) and very close to both Providence College and the CHAD BROWN housing projects.
She was walking home from a party and someone in a car shot her. She was shot in her hand. This happened at approximately 1:00 AM on Saturday (presumably late Friday night).
2. A 19 year old guy was shot in the leg on Sunday afternoon. This happened somewhere on Chalkstone Ave. No other info.
3. A 28 year old guy from East Greenwich was shot while driving on Prairie Ave (near Dudley Street) in Upper South Providence. That's right behind RI Hospital. This happened at an unknown time on Sunday.
