The article does not mention of he viewed any of the children/youths. No doubt, they would have been thrilled to see the Governor of Texas peering at them through his new glasses.
I guess you missed the story a little while back where Arizona was told to STOP it's actions against illegals by the Obama Admin, claiming immigration and defending the borders is a FEDERAL responsibility.

Perhaps if he flew to the border in a military aircraft, strutted around in a flight suit and then gave a speech in front of a giant "Mission Accomplished" banner they'd like him more.
There was nothing wrong with the "Mission Accomplished " banner being in the picture.
It was about the ship......that had in fact accomplished their mission....it had nothing to do with Bush....than then the picture picked it up.
...and the net result of going to the border would be what? He'd learn what that he hasn't already. It's not like there was a natural disaster or any situation where a number of Americans lost their lives.

It's just natural to find fault with the other party regardless of how they act or what they do.

One, it is not one continuous, unbroken wall; second, it was built (mainly with peasant labor or slave labor, but also by soldiers) over the course of 2,000 years; and third, in the end, it did not keep out the invaders.
I had the opportunity to visit a section of the Great Wall, outside of Beijing, in 2008 (just after the Olympics). Wonderful to see.
My point is, it streatched over 3,000 miles, and it was built by convicts and soldiers....some of the wall overlapped in areas....it was started in 1368...
with our technology today, we could absolutely build it, and have it patroled, which would also create jobs....
It can be done! and it doesn't matter that it isn't one continuous wall, that is not my point, and who cares who built it, what does that have anything to do with it? We are not living in 1368 any longer.

Prisons should be providing men to build the border fence/wall. We have all these men in orison doing nothing. Put them to work, save money, and get the border secured at the same time. Oh but wait....thats using common sense. Cant have that
The United States of American has been invaded. We had better start thinking in those terms and refrain from the euphemisms that try to cloak what is happening and turn it into something more palatable to the American people.
