It's more like Mexico is dealing with the mess of people flowing across its border as well. They're legally entering Mexico so they're not illegals at that point.

All part of the plan.

Mexico should have been invaded and destroyed like Polk wanted.

Mexico knows that they won't be staying though.
72 hour permits is more than enough time to travel to the Rio Grande.

LOL..I remember the bashing Bush got because he didn't go to ground zero after Katrina.

It's just natural to find fault with the other party regardless of how they act or what they do.
That's what party loyalists do..defend their guy while bashing the other guy.
No, that's what unintelligent people do. Presidents are all over cases where there's $100B+ in damages. Bush's biggest fault was putting too much value in loyalty and not enough value in competency in his people. Brownie wasn't qualified to run FEMA. Their response wasn't good and neither was his personal response.

We spend $14B total on the border every year. Katrina was $108B. The amount of damage was nicely 7 times what we spend in total on the border. A slight increase in the number and specifically the types of illegals crossing the border isn't remotely near a natural disaster that costs us 7 x more than what is spent on the whole border every year.

1833 American citizens dead and 108,000,000,000 in damage compared with a slight increase in the number of illegals crossing. Yeah, that's not remotely the same.

Prisons should be providing men to build the border fence/wall. We have all these men in orison doing nothing. Put them to work, save money, and get the border secured at the same time. Oh but wait....thats using common sense. Cant have that
Having unqualified poorly motivated workers is not necessarily the best way to get things done. That's ignoring the logistics of making a slew of new temporary prisons along the border and any increased thread to the public. Prisoners working is great for license plates since they can do it in the prison. Building walls next to Mexico is rather stupid. They could run across the border and the prison guards wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Very informative post, tried to rep you again, but cannot....
thank you for this

and by the way, do you remember the look on Bush's face and how angry he was with the (at that time) head of Fema, for not doing his job, I mean, if looks could have killed, and shortly there after he was replaced.

Employers? Our OWN GOVERNMENT is sending the message that if you come here you get a free pass. The own government. Doing nothing about it. NOTHING.

Really? All those ICE and border agents just sit around all day? You're neurotic if you think that nothing is being done. POTUS asked for more money so that more can be done and it can be done more quickly. Those conservative people you love in Congress thus far have done nothing. Lots of complaining though.

Not specifically, no. I wish it had been the look of great pride. Bush's rules for his people were as long as you stay in line and stay loyal you'll be fine unless you really, really screw up. He left for good reason.

Some guy on MSNBC just said our border was drawn in 1848 out of bigotry telling us we should learn history. And that border so close to Mexican cities is causing the issue.
I find that Ironic because it was the anti-imperialists and the abolitionists not wanting to hand a country to the slave states.

Oh believe me, I know it, all they are doing is trumping up votes, if those conservatives wanted to fix this they would....

well actually, it was right after Nagey got on TV and said, "someone needs to get off their butts and get down here". Then Bush showed up and boy it was very evident he was upset....I will never ever forget how he looked at that FEMA Guy....
