To hell with Mexico and our worthless government. They allow these people through to break our laws while they hold a Marine who made a mistake crossing into Mexico.

Of course Congress can withhold that money - we have this little thingy in our Constitution that provides only Congress "with the power of the purse". They have that separation of power to stop a rogue President from doing whatever he pleases. It's way past time for Congress to find their backbone.

I haven't seen it posted here, but we have a new Secretary of Health & Human Services - he is the son of one of the chief organizers and committed activist in La Raza. The US Senate happily confirmed him - he has ZERO experience in anything related to HHS, but he was the rising star Hispanic Keynote Speaker at the Dem's 2012 Convention and a fierce advocate of Amnesty.

It happens every day in the real world....even to doctors. With that said, it certainly would not
cost 4 Billion dollars.

I just love how they just pull these numbers out of their ass.

The article does not mention of he viewed any of the children/youths. No doubt, they would have been thrilled to see the Governor of Texas peering at them through his new glasses.
Perry is down there all the time. He did view the detention centers - this info is not difficult to find.
Perry has a website and a lot of info about the Border, including his many visits.

Office of the Governor - Rick Perry

YES - the USA is being invaded and our neighbors to the South (Mexico) are aiding that invasion by giving safe passage, facilitating the transit and even giving money and aid to the invaders.

Our President does not care. If he can't bring himself to stop an invasion, then he needs to step aside.
Protecting the US Borders is a main part of his job - he is actively helping the invaders and ignoring Mexico's involvement.

The president “is asking to use billions of taxpayer dollars without accountability or a plan in place to actually stop the border crisis,†Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said in a statement.

Asked if he thought lawmakers would approve the proposal, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said, “No, given the mood here in Washington, I don’t have confidence it will happen.â€

But aside from those type of statements, I agree with you that Congress has no spine.

Hey, they can push Amnesty without dishing out a penny....oh wait, there would be no reason for illegals
to come here these days because it is not like they are needed in our present job market.

We did, we went all the way to Mexico City. Apparently the reason why we did not take all of Mexico (and believe me, the "All of Mexico" crowd was far larger than the opposition) was because it was feared that the addition of former Mexico as "free states" (Mexico had earlier abolished slavery) would upset the "slave holding states" so we just ended up taking the sparsely populated northern part of Mexico.

And now the chickens have come home to roost 170 odd years later ...

The way I see it is simple, sooner or later we WILL have to intervene in Mexico and this time around we better take the whole enchilada. Afterall, the border with Guatemala is alot smaller than the existing southern border.

I find that Ironic because it was the anti-imperialists and the abolitionists not wanting to hand a country to the slave states.
How can people be so dumb? The US Border with Mexico was settled after a couple of Wars over that River & Land - the USA won and they all signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The "Border" is right down the middle of the Rio Grande ... which is why a "fence" is going to be a major problem unless we give back the River. We can't "give back the river" because a huge economy and Millions of people depend on the river.

This is a photo taken from the McAllen side of the Rio Grande, looking toward Mexico. It's in a "low water" period. The Rio Grande is like all rivers - it moves, which is why it's next to impossible to figure out a title for property. Most of the land on the US side is Historic Land grants.

The illegals don't "walk" across the border in McAllen, unless they walk the bridge (which I've done many times in the past) - the illegals are swimming or rafting the river. US Citizens can freely go into Mexico with no papers - but they can't get back into the USA unless they have a Passport. The illegals are welcomed to Texas with no documents, US citizens will be turned away unless they have a US Passport .... How crazy is that?

You don't have to built a "fence" on the Rio Grande. Just up the patrol and change that loophole.
Not to mention the Rio Grande is home to many birds. It would be horrible to the eco system there
to disturb it for a fence.

Thanks for the pic.

Or being ferried by jet skis. There are now jet skis ferrying illegals across the Rio Grande.
Breibart caught it on tape including the Border Patrol helicopter flying above them.
That's how open our borders are now.
