If that's the case, then i'll truly believe that this is all part of an agenda -- perhaps to put pressure on congressional republicans to expedite an amnesty. i am absolutely shocked that the obama admnistration is just sitting back and allowing countless people to cross the border illegally on a daily basis, without intending to do anything to halt the flow of illegals.
Obama has a phone and a pen. He's always reminding us of that when he wants to get something done...
"If Congress doesn't act..." he says he'll use his phone and pen. He has used them already, so we know they both work. Why doesn't he do that now?
The country has two issues: Illegal immigration AND the crisis of thousands of children on our soil. These issues have to be addressed separately.
It's clear that the President didn't want to be seen in photos on the border and wants to distance himself from that. He needs to be able to blame someone else -- in this case, Congress.
Never one to take responsibility or lead in a positive fashion.
One, it is not one continuous, unbroken wall; second, it was built (mainly with peasant labor or slave labor, but also by soldiers) over the course of 2,000 years; and third, in the end, it did not keep out the invaders.

It's waaaay past time for Congress to start doing it's job.
You cons all know perfectly well that if he DID go to the border, you'd be accusing him of grandstanding.
Perhaps if he flew to the border in a military aircraft, strutted around in a flight suit and then gave a speech in front of a giant "Mission Accomplished" banner they'd like him more.
Their job is not to keep them in Mexico. It is to keep them out of the US unless they are legally admitted. There is a difference. When people from countries south of Mexico surrender to the border patrol or are apprehended while crossing the Rio Grande, it is the law that the border patrol take them into custody pending a deportation hearing. What do you propose? Unless the law is changed to allow/require the BP to refuse them entry and immediately deport without a hearing, then the problem goes on. If the law were changed, the courts would likely toss it out as a violation of the equal protection clause - denial of due process.
Once more, the way to fix this is to crack down on employers who hire them - for real this time. No demand means no supply. It is that simple.
Either repeal the law via this bill or simply don't enforce it.

The Wilberforce Act, I think he can worm out of it by executive order. I agree about the employers, they used to do that.
Yes, he does. I remember Gov. Richardson sending the New Mexico National Guard to the NM/Mexico border some years back but neither Gov. Brewer nor Gov. Perry seem concerned enough to do the same.
Whining is more constructive I guess.
It's all blathering and political posturing for the upcoming elections. Just like the Arizona law that focused on a papers please approach and racial profiling instead of going after homebuilders and landscaping companies in Sun City. Neither Perry, nor Brewer want to do anything about illegal immigration, they just want to sound tough to the people that voted them into office. Which is hysterical because many of the people in their "base" employee the illegals they rail against.

Wow. Taking a photo from 6 years ago (and not even checking the date of it even) and using THAT as some criticism due to the border crisis to automatically assume he doesn't want to be president. I mean, I knew you were a puppet, but this is a new low even for you.
Ouch!
