Rolling Stone is making an interesting statement. People who knew the attacker saw him as the epitome of normal. But he was secretly a monster. How terrifying, and what a great story, and what a picture worth a thousand words.

Get over it, grow up, get on with it.
I've grown up enough to note that I didn't call for a boycott nor a petition. I merely expressed my dissatisfaction with RollingStone making it all about that guy and slapping up a nice photogenic pic of him with excuses galore.

Maybe you should grow up and allow people to express their sole opinion on the topic without going into a tizzy about boycotts?

And how much do you wanna bet we'll be seeing his face on T-shirts soon? Move over Che Guevera...

The article turned out to be false. Or at least grossly exaggerated. Technically the General resigned but we know how that goes.

It was probably the dumbest and most immature foreign policy decision ever made by a U.S. President.

At the time liberals wanted charge the General with treason. (How dare you criticize the black guy) I'm sure you can find a thread on C-D about it.

Basing war policy on an article in a magazine aimed at teenage pot smokers and people think President Obama is some kind of genius? lols.
LOL. Ok.

I also agree that is was a bad choice of photo, but I think the poster meant that the contrast of what the photo depicts and what was actually lurking behind his face is what is terrifying.

That being said, If they wanted to make the same point of the contrast and discrepancy between the look of the terrorist and his mindset, they should and could have overlayed one half of his face or his forehead with the scenes of horror that he caused in Boston that day. There were much better ways to depict the point they state they intended to make visually. I find it difficult to believe that they did not see this and were not more sensitive to the people that have been directly affected by this idiot monster's actions.

Rolling Stone has ALWAYS been heavily into politics since its inception.
This liberal has not regularly read Rolling Stone magazine since junior high.

This liberal will not be buying this month's issue.

This guy wraps up all of our prejuidices about foreign students, he has no doubt, created more issues for other foreign students. He is a terrorist, and should not be afforded any status. Or do you want some copy cat crimes?

My opinion, he is a terrorist, no trial, straight to Gitmo. Get the water board.
TIME also had a cover on Bin Laden.

No, you were clearly referring to the famous pottsdam conference photo and then took it a step further and omitted that you'd mentioned churchill and FDR to try to further hide the reference.

Really, at this point an honest discussion is so far off the table with you that it's pointless to entertain any more of your comments which you will of course deny making just pages later.

I told you to stick to partisan debates where it's just poo-flinging. I feel embarassed for you.

If tthey want controversy, just put Zimmerman on the cover next month, maybe he can pose with Casey Anthony.

They won't do that, because it would be offensive.... What is the difference? Oh, we all know....

After first showing the twin-towers etc. They also didn't have on the cover comments about how his family failed him.

Hey, I've seen McVeigh on covers too....in his orange prison jumpsuit etc.

I'd have no problem with putting his picture up down the road, maybe in a nice article about the death penalty. But think of the phrase "too soon" or some of the phrases on the cover besides the obligatory "monster" and choice of picture as being at best inappropriate then perhaps take a moment to reflect?

It's all personal opinion, I'm merely sharing mine and if you don't see it that way then that's your choice and I'm not calling you names because we happen to disagree.

Notice how I'm not jumping up and down belittling you, screaming liberal or conservative or ranting about how we should boycott RS etc? We have a bunch of posters around here that never learned how to have a civil discussion and that people can agree to disagree and then go about thier business.
