IF this is so horrid and not just the root of more left/right feigned outrage BS then every photo featuring FDR, Churchill, and that great mass murderer Stalin together should be burned as being absolutely pornographic, eh?
Indeed, a "rockstar." A rockstar whom, according to the damn cover itself, "fell into radical Islam and became a monster." How many rockstars does that sound like?

It's pretty obvious that they chose this particular photo among many that made him seem as if he posed for a photo as a celebrity. This is the photo that had young girls sending him fan mail in prison. It's the hair thing I guess because I never found this face appealing, but that is it in a nutshell. They are attempting to target a younger audience.

But if the point they are trying to make is that monsters don't always look like monsters?

Truth is that if I had a crack at it, I would have overlayed one of the wounded on half his face to get that message across. Clearly, what you suggest was not their objective.

Maybe read the article and then decide what you think is their objective.

Based on what other than your opinion? Anyone who didn't already know this mope's story wasn't going to become aware all of a sudden no matter what was overlayed on the pic.
