I can just imagine if one inmate comes back to haunt us, the GOP will have a field day, would have been nice to see some courage from both parties rather than political posturing.
Congress gave him the O.K. but yeah, you are arguing that Obama doesn't have what it takes to back up his words with his actions because he is afraid to take responsibility for anything.

Once again, Congress didn't run on a promise to close Gitmo, BO did. It appears he has all the power needed to keep his promise, yet refuses to do so without dragging Congress into the matter.

Pubs have promised to keep it going by their continued votes against closing it. While at the same time whining about "why hasn't Obama kept his campaign promise?"

Nope. No cure for stupid.

From the linked article in the OP:

It was the first vote since President Barack Obama said last month that he
was still determined to close the facility. Obama first made that promise more
than four years ago but has been consistently rebuffed by Congress.

You're an "old" gringo, and still dont know that voting not to close something doesnt keep it open. You need to FUND its opening, and Obama has to approve of that funding by signing spending bills

I agree, no cure for stupid, if you're "old", and dont know how our government works, you never will.

Has there been a separate funding bill for Gitmo or is its continued funding part of a much larger package that would be difficult veto?

Please tell me, Mr Govt Expert.

Once again. Nothing can be done in the ds minds because rs are in control of congress and nothing is Os fault.

But everything was Bush's fault even with the ds in control then.

What gives? Ds just can't get anything done no matter what?
