We all know that straw purchases are illegal but that doesn't mean that many people don't carry them out, and a proportion of rogue gun store owners turn a blind eye to them.
You don't live in Chicago, so you don't know what you are talking about. I know quite a few people who legally own guns in Chicago, I've even considered it.

I've given you the links to the Chicago PD gun permitting forms website and the citizen's committee which itemizes how Rahm Emanuel is skirting the law by placing strict regulations that have made it much harder to get those permits. Sure, you can own a gun, but most people can't navigate through the permitting process.
You are denying, even though Chicagoans may be able to own a gun, it's little more than a symbolic gesture. It's a joke; much like California where (I do live) our strict and ridiculous gun bans pale in comparison.

If someone can't fill out a gun permit form than the person is an idiot and i feel safer with them not having a gun.
If you want to cry about California's strict gun bans you can thank Ronald Reagan, but you'll probably blame Obama.
If you look at the long term, the ban was started in 1982, homicides have drop almost half....1991 there were 928 homicides....2011 there were 433, which was less than 2010 (436)..... (page 2 of the link below).
You can cherry pick one year if you like, but what about the rest of the years?
well when you have senators that done want gang members to get more severe penalties for using guns in crimes what do you expect and that SENATOR WAS OBAMA......
