He did back it up, and it wasn't good enough for you.
No matter what he posts you will question it. It could be CNN or the BBC and it still would not be good enough.
You would look it up so you could educate your self. Unless you just being a troll that is
OK, here are the Chicago gun laws as far as I could determine:
-State permit to purchase.
-Registration of firearms including a firearm safety course, background check that includes fingerprinting, and a $100 permit fee renewable every 3 years
-No assault weapons or high capacity magazines
-Owner license required.
-Automatic rifles restricted.
And I know they just over-turned the concealed carry law so that now people can take a concealed loaded weapon onto the street, and that the Illinois Attorney-General is planning to appeal that.
So I don't see what is so strict or restrictive about those gun laws. They seem perfectly reasonable.
I still don't see how anyone can say loosening restrictions caused a decrease in gun violence in Chicago. The handgun ban was lifted by court order, and gun homicide increased.
WRONG, go back and read the stats I posted....I know facts are hard for some....but really....
From 1991 the homicide's reduced by nearly 50%.......900ish to 450ish....
Even with the ban, the number stayed flat for many years....
Because I'm not the one claiming that Chicago has adopted strict gun laws. Why would I be looking up something that I am questioning. It's up to the person who made the statement to back it up with some facts.
I've provided that information that you are wrong...read the thread....
Read the form....if you knowingly lie....you are already at fault.....
You don't live in Chicago, so you don't know what you are talking about. I know quite a few people who legally own guns in Chicago, I've even considered it.
You guys want to make it easier to buy a gun than to buy a beer, sorry if you have to fill out a form and present ID.

No, we want the current laws to be enforced.....
And, with the strict alcohol laws...underage drinkers are all over the place.....so laws work..right....
We all know that straw purchases are illegal but that doesn't mean that many people don't carry them out, and a proportion of rogue gun store owners turn a blind eye to them.
