You have a constitutional right to a firearm, does that mean that a demented person should be able to obtain one?

There's a big difference between "not all there" and "demented". My mother did not have dementia.

Fortunately, it isn't up to you. Your opinion doesn't trump a constitutional right.

My last chemo was a year ago. I have gone to the doctor's at least once a month (and generally 3 or 4 times a month) since then. They require that you provide a SS number, birthday, and full name- but not once an ID. You were informed incorrectly, since I am sure that Dana-Farber is up to their legal protocol.

My wife's parents, 90 and 98 when they passed, both looked forward to their duty to vote. Never missed an election right to the end. Surprising how with it they both were.

The only identifing protocol I have noticed in a medical setting is that each service provider, nurse, doc, techie, etc, will ask you two identifying questions to verify they are treating the right person. No requests for ID's though.

WHY?
SHe pointed out that her mother did not have a need for an ID.
Exactly what I have pointed out with regards to my mother in her final years as well.

Lots & lots of people do not have an y need for an ID, are physically frail or have difficulty getting around, but are mentally sound and have voted all their lives & wish to continue voting, but many of these new ID laws prevent them from voting.

Think of others for a change. SO MANY posts here say: "I have..." or "Everyone I know...."
Well guess what, there are millions of people in this COuntry that you do not know.
