Honorable people who wish to serve their country can now do so without covering up who they are. Good work all around - the President, the House and in particular, those Republican Senators who had the nerve to adopt a less popular viewpoint.
I wouldn't be so quick to dispense with this types of bigots to the dustbin of history. Haley Barbour's recent comments lets us know we must be ever vigilant that the forces of ignorance, fear and hatred.
They must be watched and they must be challenged whenever they decide to spew their poison upon humanity.
They are willing to put the needs of their societies above their own self interest, profit and greed. To Conservatives that is just totally un-American.
Seriously, at some point you have to start questioning these people's intelligence! How many times has this been stated and pointed out to them? How many times do they seem to forget? WHY is it so hard for them to comprehend?

Aw man, that's one less group to discriminate against. There was time when businesses and organizations could legally discriminate against anyone for any reason, at any point. Race, gender, religion, marital status, you name it. Baseless discrimination is the cornerstone of our clearly superior Western society, and is a precious resource that cannot be afforded to waste. If we keep this up, we'll soon run out of things to legally discriminate against.

Seems like most of the teeth nashing, vitreol and hatred in this thread is coming from posters on the left.
The vitriol that you speak of was a direct result of your vitriol. Many Americans will no longer just stand by and allow bigoted comments to flourish in our society. That may have been the case in earlier times when minorities just had to sit and take it. I will strongly disagree with any statement that hints of bigotry towards others.
