Nah, recognizing and admitting there’s a problem is the first step in doing something about it. Perhaps Big Ed’s plan for peace will someday soon be implemented to do just that, as city folks aren’t the only ones affected…and let’s not forget a better area attracts more people and more businesses patronized, more tax revenue, etc…

Daily or multiple daily teen shootings are the new norm. It is a byproduct of a Democratic campaign designed to reseperate us by race. Blacks were preached to that they have been mistreated over and over. Bound to have an anger affect.

I suspect the trend will continue and get worse.

pittsburgh has enough problems without having dudes from wexford or wherever making our city look bad by continually propping up a thread about over-hyped violence here

if you live outside the city then go find another forum to hijack with your bad news

it's like every time i come here the first thing i see is 5 PEOPLE SHOT WITHIN 24 HOURS

WHICH HAPPENED OVER A YEAR AGO, but here it's the perpetual headline

Its not like porn because those of us who comment on the crime/social/political problems within the City don't enjoy watching the City's failures.. many of us have a vested interest in the City doing well - I may sleep in Etna and pay taxes here, but I work within the City.
Furthermore, while the City discusses annexing my community - I do have the right to comment on governmental-related affairs in the City.

Geez, I would rather my kids go to Shaler and not the city. Too dangerous these days.

Less kids are going to city schools, yet the violence amongst kids is getting worse, hence the suggestion of a curfew.

Big Ed taking credit for a quick arrest while shootings and murders continue as the plan for peace is obviously nonsense. Hopefully businesses and commuters continue to complain.

City officials, community react to fatal shooting in downtown Pittsburgh

https://www.wpxi.com/news/local/city...edium=news_tab

The mayor’s office releasing a statement today offered their prayers to the family and friends of the victim and credited their increased patrolling in the area with a quick arrest: ”While we cannot stop every shooting from happening, we can do all that we can to take violent actors off the streets - just like our officers did yesterday.”

Many business owners and commuters are concerned and want a safer downtown.

“Open up some more centers like Shuman Center, they’ve got to open up those centers quickly so those kids will have somewhere to go.

So I guess we don't need stricter gun control laws, at least not in this city. Because according to you, there's no gun violence problem. Right?

Most of us were born in Pittsburgh and lived there for decades, probably before you were born. Obviously, when someone tells you that they live in "Pittsburgh," or "Cleveland," or "Chicago," the vast majority of the time it means that they live in a suburb outside of those cities. That's been the case for about fifty years now.

right. i live in the city, and would like to see the lib-tards move to the suburbs. have conservatives come back, enhance a thriving middle class, see public school achievement increase, and have kids play on the street again because people know each other, arent scared of each other, and arent druggies or gangstas.

at least the jews in this town are like that - family, church, education, no messing around. they are thriving and have opened a new jewish school in a repurposed catholic school in greenfield. so, there is substance to what im posting here.

see, its about reality. now there are people in this thread....complaining about this thread....there was a death from a 2pm shooting when bullets flew across liberty avenue yesterday, beatches.

or...we can have the city spend its money (or waste its grant money) on truancy, helping those who dont give back and never intend to, etc.

I tire from people politicizing everything. By doing, you’re not seeing the actual problems. it’s not a “red” versus “blue” kind of thing. Thinking this way is a bit shallow and simply shows individuals mindset when it comes to addressing difficult issues. You’re over simplifying what causes crime . We need to watch out for this because sharp increases in red states and red cities happened quite a bit over the past few years. Not to mention higher than Pittsburgh’s. Should I jump on the bandwagon and blame politics? Or actually look at what is causing the crime.
