Thanks for sharing this. I had no idea this had even happened. I was aware there was a ShotSpotter notification for near Frederick & Dickson, and, consequently, a parked vehicle was struck by the gunfire on Shadeland. I didn't realize a person was also shot and thought "Uh-oh! I was shot in the head. I better drive to Brookline!" This happened spitting distance from my home.

Given the somewhat unique to me phrase, "shot behind the ear," I ran it through the newspapers archive -- turns out 41 references across Pittsburgh history. It is an odd phrase, usually signifying an "execution-style," targeted murder, which doesn't appear to be the case here, if the victim was still able to drive to Brookline. Some "shot behind the ear" cases include the 1948 murder of a 160 lb Mckeesport factory girl, who the papers described as "husky," and who was shot behind the ear and killed, with her body dumped in a gully on the outskirts of town, as well as the 1991 execution-style murder of a Philly mob boss that was covered in the Pittsburgh papers.

The killers are the problem. Which political party produces them?

Lol. Why Dems continue to defend and enable criminals is the real mystery…and there is gun control, but criminals will still find ways to acquire guns and get spun through the revolving doors of justice so they can do it again.

Bigger mystery -- why you continue to lie and spread BS talking points on this site everyday.

The right wing NRA gun smugglers that put brand new in the box guns in the hand of children. You cannot possibly think that these guns are manufactured in the hood. You cannot believe that illegal guns are stolen from senior citizens.

Guns get smuggled into the country just like drugs and find their way into the hands of criminals who put them in the hands of children..and loser criminals don’t discriminate who they steal from.

Many folks don’t want meanie police in their neighborhoods, so where are the outreach folks, community “leaders”, parents or guardians, etc…, that are touted to teach the poor children they shouldn’t be playing with guns, shouldn’t be shooting folks, etc…?

Patently false. Find me a documented instance of a local juvenile shooter who illegally purchased a new firearm from a licensed retailer.
I'll wait.

So, there are no options to fighting crime other than a binary choice between: (1) an army of social workers vs. (2) the crazy sh-t Trump was saying in DC this week?
